The Zeta Nu Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc has developed and implemented impactful programming, consistent with the fraternity's National Programs:
Signature Events

Blu and White Ball
The Blu and White Ball is our chapter’s premier formal gala, established to uplift and award local businesses and foundations making a profound impact in Athens-Clarke County. We proudly dedicated our inaugural event to the Joy Village Foundation, the first and only private school in Athens focused on educating and empowering Black youth. Through this annual celebration, we aim to shine a spotlight on community excellence, foster meaningful connections, and provide tangible support to the local champions building a brighter, more equitable future for our city.

Phi Beta Fish Fry
The Phi Beta Fish Fry is a highly anticipated community gathering hosted in tandem with our constitutionally bound sisters of the Gamma Chi Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Designed to foster meaningful connections, this event allows us to actively engage with the people of Athens while providing delicious, high-quality meals at a very accessible price. Beyond serving great, inexpensive food, the fish fry creates a welcoming atmosphere of fellowship where university students, families, and local residents can come together to celebrate community spirit and build lasting relationships.
Bigger And Better Business
Bigger and Better Business became the first national program of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. It was first introduced at the Tenth Anniversary Conclave, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (December 1924). When Bigger and Better Business was adopted as a national program, special emphasis was placed on encouraging and promoting Negro businesses. At its inception, the program sought to encourage Negro businesses to improve their business acumen, efficiency and service to the public, to be competitive with other businesses.
Social Action
In 1934, Bro. Elmo M. Anderson called for the reconstruction of the social order while fighting against anti-lynching practices. Today, Social Action is the heartbeat of our beloved fraternity and we should continue to honor our dear Bro. Anderson through meaningful and measurable activities. Our communities need strong leadership with a clear BOLD vision and message from our great fraternity. We need to continue to be the voice for the voiceless and work in the communities we serve to drive the most impact. We also need to ensure that we have a lens of equity when it comes to the partnerships that we have established. Our Social Action program is segmented into four focus areas: Brotherhood for Justice Reform, Healthy Communities, Safe Communities, and Voting Empowerment.
Education
The Education Program stands as a testament to the Fraternity’s enduring commitment to advancing excellence in education and strengthening communities. Rooted in the belief that educational achievement and community well being are deeply interconnected, our initiatives extend beyond individual academic pursuits to create meaningful impact at the societal level. Phi Beta Sigma’s intentional focus on education was firmly established in 1936 with the election of Hon. Bro. Fred G. Minnis Esq, the Fraternity’s first elected Director of Education. This historic decision, unique among our fraternal counterparts, codified education as a central pillar of the organization and set in motion a tradition of leadership that continues to shape the Fraternity’s service to students, families, and communities.
